Why hire mobile equipment — not buy it.

Buying a mobile screen or crusher is a serious capital commitment. Here is what that capital actually gets you — and what hiring gets you instead.

  1. 01

No capital tied up in a depreciating asset

Mobile screens and crushers depreciate from the day they land. A machine bought for this project is worth materially less by the time the project wraps — and that write-down is yours. Hiring keeps the capital free for the parts of the business that actually grow it.

  2. 02

No maintenance, servicing or repair costs

A hired machine is our problem to keep running. Consumables, scheduled servicing, wear parts and breakdowns stay on our balance sheet and in our workshop, not yours.

  3. 03

The right machine for each job, not one machine for all of them

A quarry screen sizing 200 t/h and a landscaping yard sorting topsoil are different jobs. Own one machine and you compromise every job that does not suit it. Hire and you match the spec to the site, every time.

  4. 04

Scale up or down as the project demands

Scope changes. Site conditions change. An owned machine is a fixed cost whether it is running or parked. A hire arrangement moves with the work — take a second screen when throughput demands it, send it back when the job is done.

  5. 05

No storage, transport logistics or insurance burden

This equipment needs licensed transport, insured storage between projects, and a yard big enough to hold it. We handle delivery, positioning and retrieval on every hire, and the machine goes back to our yard, not yours.

  6. 06

Access to a fleet, not a single unit

If your own machine goes down mid-project, you wait. We carry a fleet — if there is a mechanical issue, there are options. That is built into the hire arrangement rather than bolted on as a warranty claim.

When does buying make more sense?

If your operation runs the same equipment type at high utilisation — the same machine, on the same site, for most of the year — purchasing can work out cheaper over the life of the asset. That is a real answer and we will give it to you honestly if it applies.

What we would still say is this: get the machine right before you commit the capital. Hiring the spec you think you need for a few months is a cheap way to find out whether you were right, and it comes off no balance sheet if you were not.
